Savvy Supermom Outfit of the Day - $14 Classic Cardigan Twist

Look Ma, no denim!

I have noticed that the longer I shop thrift stores, the more likely I am to take chances or try a new color combination. This is one of them. I love the subtle green, orange and pink found in this sweater and have now worn it several times using a different colored tank under it to bring out the different colors.

Although it's difficult to see, the skirt has pinstripes going through it. As someone who is not particularly a flower & lace type of girl, I love the way the pinstripe lends a more classic feel...that the bright green purse totally throws off (and I love that!).

The Breakdown.
Ann Taylor sweater ($3 thrift store/ARP $80), green tank ($3 Rave/ARP $3), Gap pin-striped black cotton skirt ($4 thrift store/ARP $50), Unisa beige heels ($4 thrift store/ARP $80).

Grand Total: $14
Approximate Retail Price: $213
Savvy Savings: $199

Thrift store shopping is a great way to try a new color combination without breaking the bank so go for it! A little color IS fun!

Stay Savvy Y'all!

  1. Love this! And, I love pin stripes! I agree that they tone down a floral or frilly item... it's all about balance! :-)
